OPENING OF THE EASTBOUND I-30 RAMP TO THE NORTHBOUND TEXPRESS LANES OF THE NORTH TARRANT EXPRESS 35W
FORT WORTH, Texas – As mobility continues to improve on the North Tarrant Express 35W we are pleased to announce the opening of the eastbound I-30 ramp to the northbound TEXpress lanes of the North Tarrant Express I-35W project on Saturday, December 1st. This new ramp was part of some additional work that was added to the original scope of North Tarrant Express 35W project to provide better mobility in the area.
This opening will improve accessibility to the corridor with a new connection from the general highway lanes to the TEXpress Lanes. This new ramp will help with mobility and provide drivers with another option to travel along the newly rebuilt North Tarrant Express 35W lanes.
The project, which began in May 2014, has included the complete reconstruction of expanded frontage roads, general highway lanes and the addition of two TEXpress lanes. There are two more ramps at Belknap St. /Weatherford St. and I-35W that are expected to open in early 2019.
This is part of the $1.4 billion North Tarrant Express 35W project, which includes a 6.5-mile section that is currently ranked 23rd on the state’s most congested roadways list. Ranked sixth when construction began in 2013, this section of I-35W from north of I-30 to north of I-820 including the I-35W/I-820 interchange in Fort Worth is already seeing traffic improvements with the reconstruction of main lanes and the addition of TEXpress Lanes.
