Built and operated under a public–private partnership, this 43-mile, three-corridor network has reduced congestion, generated billions in economic impact, and returned value to Texas taxpayers, all while ensuring a free travel option for every driver.

The $6.8 billion in total investment in the three TEXpress corridors was financed primarily with private capital, including equity from infrastructure investors and long-term debt from infrastructure lenders, with only $1.1 billion in public funding, representing approximately 16 percent of the total.

The TEXpress system has returned $314.1 million in shared revenue and financial benefits to TxDOT, and delivered an 81 percent driver satisfaction rate, all while ensuring that at least one free travel option is always available to motorists.

Since the first lanes opened in 2014, the TEXpress system has served more than 42 million distinct vehicles and facilitated approximately one million trips per day.
