Team Effort Supports 289 Families, Distributes Over 20,000 Pounds of Food for North Texas Families

CARROLLTON, Texas (June 20, 2025) — A team of 10 employee volunteers from the LBJ/NTE/NTE 35W TEXpress project spent the Friday after Juneteenth giving back to the community at Metrocrest Services’ Client Choice Food Pantry.

The volunteers were divided into two shifts. The morning group worked from 8 to 11 a.m., assisting with client check-ins, restocking shelves and helping clients shop for groceries. The second group continued those efforts from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., ensuring the pantry remained stocked and clients received the support they needed.

Metrocrest Services provides food and relief to North Texas residents facing food insecurity. Its Client Choice Food Pantry operates like a grocery store, allowing clients to select the items they need, promoting dignity and reducing waste.

“Your group supported 289 families and distributed 20,282 pounds of food, which is equivalent to a fully loaded UPS delivery truck,” said Jayme Dooley, volunteer coordinator at Metrocrest Services.

Company representatives said they are proud of the volunteers’ dedication and look forward to continuing their partnership with Metrocrest Services.
