The North Tarrant Express project features 13.3 miles of NTE TEXpress Lanes in Northeast Tarrant County. The NTE TEXpress Lanes are located on I-820 (Northeast Loop) and SH-121/183 (Airport Freeway), a major east-west corridor between Fort Worth and Euless.
Construction along I-35W, a 10.1-mile north-south corridor, from downtown Fort Worth to US 287, began in 2013 and will be completed by 2018. Phase 1 of the I-35W TEXpress Lanes, from I-820 (Northeast Loop) to US 287 is slated for a 2017 opening. Phase 2, which consists of TEXpress Lanes from I-820 (Northeast Loop) to I-30, is scheduled to open in late 2018.
Carpool and vanpool drivers, as well as motorcyclists, qualify for an HOV discount on the NTE TEXpress Lanes.
