As Black History Month comes to a close, our General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer, Andrew Wallace, sat down and told us his story of growing up post-desegregation.
Andrew was born in 1964, the year of the Civil Rights Act, and spent his childhood in Beaumont, Texas. Andrew attended All Saints Episcopal School in Beaumont from pre-K through 8th grade – he calls himself a “lifer,” someone who completed the entire 10 years at All Saints. The school asked him to tell his story in honor of Black History Month.
He credits his early education and his family for his success today, despite the challenges he and others faced before, during and after desegregation.
Watch his story below.
