
The HOV (high occupancy vehicle) lanes on I-635 from US 75 to I-30 have been transitioned into HOV/Express Lanes, a form of TEXpress Lanes. Drivers with at least one additional passenger and motorcyclists will continue to use the lanes at no cost if they have a valid toll tag and register/activate as an HOV user via the Drive On TEXpress mobile app or website. Solo drivers and vehicles with no toll tag will be able to use them for a fee. The *I-635 East HOV/Express Lanes are separate from the LBJ TEXpress Lanes on I-635, which run from Luna Road to Greenville Avenue and offer HOV drivers a 50% HOV discount during weekday rush hours.
*Construction to transform the I-635 East HOV/Express Lanes into the I-635 East TEXpress Lanes is tentatively scheduled to start in late 2020.

The I-635 East HOV/Express Lanes are operated and managed by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). The I-635 East HOV/Express Lanes are not an extension of the LBJ TEXpress Lanes, which are operated and managed by LBJ Infrastructure Group, a private developer.
